General strike on 11 November: which transport runs
On Wednesday 11 November there is a general strike in the Basque Country and Navarre, and buses, Metro, trains and trams will run a minimum service. Here is what the operators have published so far. To find out whether your bus or train runs, ask Nora on WhatsApp: she has each operator's minimum service as soon as it is published.
Already published
- AlavaBus and Transporte Comarcal (Álava): minimum service on lines 1 to 16, 18 and 19 and on the regional lines 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A, 8B, 9A, 9B and 16 (Treviño). No minimum service has been published yet for line 17 (Bilbao–Logroño), line 20 (Bilbao–Pamplona) or the other regional lines.
- Dbus (San Sebastián): according to the timetable it has published for that day, only lines 5, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 25, 26, 28, 32, 36, 37, 40 and 45 run, with far fewer buses. The other lines do not run that day.
- La Unión (Bilbao–Vitoria, both banks of the estuary, Leioa and Bilbao airport): minimum service on the A-3700 lines. Bilbao to Vitoria at 6:30, 6:45 (via Ubidea), 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 22:15; Vitoria to Bilbao at 5:50, 7:10, 12:30, 13:30, 15:15 (via Ubidea), 16:00, 19:00 and 22:15 (most leave from the University and pass the bus station 15-20 minutes later). Airport: from Loiu at 8:30, 13:30 and 17:30; from Vitoria at 6:30, 11:45 and 15:45.
Not yet published
Euskotren, Metro Bilbao, Renfe Cercanías, Bizkaibus, Bilbobus, Lurraldebus, Tuvisa, the tram, Pamplona's villavesas and the rest have not published their minimum services yet (as of 7 November). They usually come out one or two days before. We will add them here, and Nora will have them as soon as they are out.
Tips for the day
- Check your bus or train the day before: minimum services can change up to the last day.
- Allow extra time: expect delays and crowded buses.
- If the trip matters (a medical appointment, a flight, an exam), think of another way to get there too.
- Nora cannot promise that a timetable will be kept that day, but she can tell you what each operator has published.
